About this grain:
Rye is a grass closely related to wheat and barley grown widely as grain, but also as a cover and forage crop. It can tolerate colder temperatures and has been grown in Central and Eastern Europe since the Middle Ages and potentially long before that along the Euphrates and in northern Syria.
We love Rye as a delicious source of dietary fibre and for its rich, slightly spicy depth of flavour.
What to make with it: Rye bread, dark chocolate brownies, crackers, cookies.
