Lovers of tea and lovers of adventure, David & Sarah travel the world in search of premium loose leaf teas. These young globe trotters met in 2008 at a ski resort in British Columbia - Sarah, a Canadian and Dave, an English gentleman. Being a Brit, Dave drank his cuppas on the regular and Sarah soon became a tea addict too.. Together they spent nearly 5 amazing years in Taiwan, studying Mandarin and discovering the wonders of hand-crafted artisan teas. After several visits to plantations across Asia and a wealth of tea knowledge under their belts, they returned to Canada with a simple dream - to share their love of tea and adventure with others.
This is an excellent example of a premium Japanese Sencha green tea. It is refreshing and grassy with a bright finish. Grown at 600m in the finest growing region of Kyoto, this tea is a summer harvest that will convert even the most seasoned Chinese green tea enthusiast.
In Japan, in order to arrest the enzyme activity and oxidation process, green teas are steamed rather than pan-fired or baked. This process renders the leaves very vegetal and fresh.
Generally more expensive than their Chinese counterparts, Japanese teas are not as common in the North American market. This is truly an exceptional tea.
