We're looking for an experienced and passionate kitchen manager to join our team in a leadership capacity. Our next manager is looking to help us grow while committing to our mission and driving our vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a passionate team of bakers
- Budgeting / costing
- Building & implementing systems for the operation of the kitchen
- Providing clear and constructive feedback to team members
- Address staffing requirements, including the hiring, development and retention of staff
- Creating the conditions and supporting the team in order for them to perform at their best
- Scheduling
- Forecasting and production planning aligned with revenue
- Monthly COGS review
- Menu rotation
- Preparation and baking a selection of whole grain, fresh-milled pastries, cookies, muffins and more
- Commitment to and interest in learning and adapting baking techniques to constantly improve our product
- Mixing sourdough loaves and shaping / baking
- Dishwashing and maintaining a clean and tidy workspace
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum one year professional baking experience
- Sourdough experience an asset
- Previous management experience required
- Proven track record of effective team leadership
- Strong self-motivation
- Superior communication skills
- Ability to work closely with founder to help set the direction/vision for the bakery
- Consistently delivering an outstanding quality product
- Strong knife/prep ability
- Desire to work as a key leader of a small team
- Able to lift 25kg
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Attention to detail
- Superior organizational skills
- Comfortable working in an environment with ambient temperatures above 28C
POSITION & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Starting wage of $24/hr
- Two weeks paid vacation
