Hiring: Prep/Line Cook


We're looking for a talented, hardworking and dedicated individual to join our team as a line and prep-cook in a full-time capacity. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and interested in being a key member of a small team of passionate sourdough bakers.

  • Preparing pizza and sandwich ingredients
  • Executing a sourdough pizza service
  • Developing Almanac's prepared food offering, featuring fresh-milled, naturally leavened baking
  • Kitchen end of day close and dishwashing
  • Commitment and interest in learning and adapting baking techniques to constantly improve our naturally leavened baking with exclusively fresh stone-milled heritage flours


  • Positive attitude
  • Good work ethic
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Previous professional baking experience considered a strong asset
  • Part-time options also available. 
  • $16.50 hourly

Almanac is an urban mill and bakery in Ottawa's East End. We're working to rebuild a local grain economy and we believe our stone mill can be a catalyst to empower farmers to grow food for people, right here in our region.

We source certified organic heritage grains farmed with integrity and transform them into fresh stone-milled flour with purpose and intention.
